JB's story

Hello everyone and thank you for stopping by. My name is Shauna DuBois and I am starting this blog as a prayer gift to Dr. Erskine James and his family. I plan on presenting this blog to them on Monday and need your help.

JB (John Buchan) is a very active and fun-loving little boy who just turned 8 in June. On August 24th, a mass was found on his CT scan after suffering from bad headaches and he was sent to Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. They met with Dr. Frederick Boop, a pediatric neurosurgeon who diagnosed JB with a probable medulloblastoma based on the MRI, as well as two "suspicious spots" on his spine . Surgery is planned for Friday, August 28th. This little boy has a long road ahead of him and I need your help to make it an easy one.

We most certainly need to pray for this little boy and his family. They need our prayers right now. What can you do to help?

Well, I thought it would be a great idea to take some pictures of JB's name. Let's make sure JB and his family know that we are praying, thinking of them and care. What better way to lift this little boy's spirits then by seeing his name everywhere?! JB loves Georgia and Georgia Tech, baseball and basketball.

I know there are some creative folks out there! Be sure to pass this on to your friends and family--let's get some pictures of JB's name with some smiling faces and neat places!

Send me your pictures at ShawnShauna@cox.net or SwanSwanna@cox.net no later than Sunday night (but the earlier the better!)

I have already called up some of my friends and family and got the ball rolling. Just think how creative this can be! I want to try and have a good number of pictures up and going on the blog before they see this on Monday.

Will you join me in praying for this family?
Pray for JB's complete healing. Pray for strength for his family as they face each day.

The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 40:28-31
